shift kit install
how hard is one to put in? ive got a th350 and have never even seen the inside of an automatic tranny. would i be able to put it in by myself? any recomdations on a brand of shift kit to get?

I think B&M has some good kits. They have one called a B&M in a box. It is basically everything they put in theirs boxed up so you can put it in. If i'm not mistaken it comes with very detailed instructions for each step and they also offer all the specialized tools needed. Might be a good starting point to look at.

I installed one in a Ford C4 and it was easy, but time consuming. Make sure to read the instructions online or have them e-mailed or faxed to you before you buy so you can determine if you really can do it and if you have the tools to do it. I was going to rebuild my TH400 in my Camaro until I saw a video on how to do it and determined I did not have all of the tools to do it.

I've done several, and B&M's street/strip "shift improver" kit for the TH350 is easy as falling off a log. Easier than the Ford AOD kit (which is really easy too). There were some poorly-photocopied instructions in the package with the one I got, but they were sufficient.
The name of the game when working with an automatic transmission: cleanliness. Work in a clean environment, use clean ATF when it's called for, and if you don't have a torque wrench that measures inch-pounds, do your damnedest to torque the valve body bolts uniformly. Oh, and you will be covered in transmission fluid, there's no getting around that.

cool, thanks ya'll ill look into that B&M kit. i just really want to be able to feel the thing shift
 the only way i can tell its shifting is the drops in rpm

I've had 2 TH350's rebuilt and shift kits installed by 2 different professional shops and they both used Transgo shift kits and I was happy with them.
