On top of the frame rail, close to the steering box. But a lot of times they are hard to read because the stamping is not very "deep"
And, that is not a VIN plate on the inside of the glove box door, it's a SPID.
BIG difference when it comes to dealing with DMV & the like.

Re: Vin numbers

most ppl call it an option sheet. It is the Service Parts IDentification.
The VIN on the frame is only a partial number, the one on the SPID is not there for legal reasons, nor is the one on the drivers door sticker. The VIN plate, under the latch assembly on the cab side of the drivers door jamb is the only legal VIN on the entire truck. Without that metal plate (one plate 70 - 72, 2 seperate plates 67 - 69) you are probably going to have to go through a bunch of red tame and BS at the BMV. You can expect to be treated like a thief when you tell them your VIN is missing.

Re: Vin numbers

Nope got that covered I found a complete truck that, now get this folks, the old man bought it new in late 70 to his ranch and never got it titled it has 47k miles on the truck. all he used it for was plowing snow in the winter and haulin hay in the summer. I'm going to use mine for parts and fix this one.
