Which Seats??

Looking for input on which power seats and out of what are the easiest to install in our Blazers. I know its not proper, but I like comfort and adjustability. Right now I have some seats out of a 90's van, but they are not power and I had to make the brackets for them.

Any input on what you guys have used would be great. Thanks, Jeff.

Not bad really, think I may of had to use spacers under the rear feet but it's been awhile ago now.

Very comfy in a burb or blazer, I didn't care for them in the pick up.

I used the stock seat belts, not the shoulder straps belts on the seats.

Re: Which Seats??

Do you happen to remember what year those came out of? I have a 95 Suburban with power seats in it, but they are terrible about the frames breaking. I have had to replace the seat bottom frame on the drivers side.

Re: Which Seats??

Thanks VT, I'll keep my eyes open for something similar. I think the integrated seat belts will solve another problem as well. Jeff.

Talking Re: Which Seats??

Hello! What, if any alternator upgrade would be needed with power seats and slight radio upgrade-(4 speakers, no real power). Perhaps I should start a new thread? First post, have not even towed my 70 Blazer home yet. I look forwrd to VT response, in just24 hrs time I have seen your contribution to things I had never even considered before (like Tri-Pro parts thread), Thanks!

Re: Which Seats??

Depending on what other upgrades you plan to make to your Blazer, your stock alternator will work fine for just power seats and a stereo. Now if you are going to start adding amplifiers, power windows, electric fans...you may want to look at getting a newer model.

On my 71, I'm running a CS130 alternator from newer vehicles because its a high power output alternator. The 71 has fuel injection, electric fans, stereo, power windows, locks and yada, yada, yada.

If you are just going to add a couple of things tho, your stock alternator will be ok.

Welcome to the board and do start a thread with pics of your Blazer once you get it home!!

Re: Which Seats??

Thanks for the responses, seems few members sleep! Must be another reason why there aren't 'quicky' builds, you're all answering newbie questions. I will post pics once I get it home.

Re: Which Seats??

I am in the process of installing power seats from a 99 truck in my '69. The power seats move when I hook power to the orange wire and ground to the solid black wire. What is the black with white stripe for?

I was just thinking should I have started another thread? I haven't been here long... I just also realized I posted this in the blazer/jimmy forum anyway I like the way mine fit in the truck, now I just need to wire them.

Re: Which Seats??

Ya, those are the same as my 95 Suburban seats. I like those too, was just worried about the weak seat frames. Mine in the suburban has broken before. I do like them tho.

Mikey, sorry don't know what the other wire is for, maybe the other direction? I don't have my wiring diagrams over here, but maybe someone else can look it up on the schematic and tell you.
