Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
Heads up.. buying anything on Ebay anymore is risky.
I got stiffed out of $200.00 bucks on a grille. I sent the guy a USPS Money Order and the guy sent it to me. When it arrived it was busted. I called him and he set-up the return pick-up and said he would refund my money. Seller posts in my feedback that he mailed the check on 10-13-09. 10-30-09 I still haven't received a refund. Seller won't answer emails or phone calls. Ebay says, sorry nothin' they can do for me personnally that the deal is between me and the seller, yet Ebay is still letting this "Ebay Power Seller" sell more parts on Ebay. The sellers name is aloha1996cars and he is located in Des Moines Iowa. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT Last edited by lakeroadster; 10-30-2009 at 07:39 AM. |

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
Did you read this part. "This will have to go truck freight for about $200 plus $25 packing. This is one large piece. This is not being crated, just wrapped up with heavy carpet and shrink wrapped"
Sounds like it will come to you crumpled up. .

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
I agree with Chevy Fleetside.
There is NO WAY that bedside could ship wrapped in carpet and shrinkwrap unless the seller was delivering it himself. I have had extraordinary luck with Ebay purchases and sales, and the only issue I have had with something I purchased was it got mangled in shipment. Nothing against UPS Fedex or freight drivers but its amazing how trashed the packages I recieve are. Whenever I ship anything I wrap it in a bulletproof cocoon. Small parts are enclosed in a plastic bag, suspended in a double strength box and "Great Stuff" foamed in place. Yeah its a little costly but I have never had one complaint about shipping damage. Wish I was close enough to pick it up in person as it looks to be an excellent bedside and reasonable price. |

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
$575.00 for a complete lwb fleetside bed side and good wheel tub, including packaging and shipping is not unreasonable
I recently attempted to transact with a local customizing shop on a swb fleetside bed, in near perfect condition for $1,100.00. After closely looking over the entire bed, inside & out, the body shop manager decided not to purchase the bed...instead he said he would charge the customer $1,120.00 (12 man hours @ $85.00 per hour shop rate) per side, so $2,240.00, just for the bodywork, not including finish. That scenario makes this bed side look pretty desireable, even with the $225.00 packaging & shipping cost. |

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
If that is the case. I better snag the next good bed I find at pick and pull. $150 for a complete bed.. If you can find one. The bozo's working over there always dent them up with the forklift or they set the rims under the bed instead of the frame because they are lazy and don't get paid much to care.

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
If you can find good factory fleetside beds, lwb or swb, for $150.00, buy every one you can find and afford...after selling them for the going-rate, you can retire in a very short time. Around here, a complete good, used fleetside bed, is over $600.00-$700.00 or more depending on the overall condition and whether it is a swb or lwb.

Re: Fleetside Truck Bed Side
I could sell a complete '60-'66 swb fleetside or loose bed sides, once a week, if I had them. We are in the middle of the rust-belt, so many of them are deteriorated, almost beyond repair, so the good ones fetch some good money.
