defroster

I have an 85 K10 and i'm trying to get the defroster to work before winter. There is a vacuum line that comes out of the firewall right by the heater core that don't go to anything. I think that is the line for my defroster, but i don't know what to hook it to so i get vacuum? Please Help

Re: defroster

I have an Edelbrock 1406 and I hooked the line up to the passenger vacumm port. I do have an issue with it though. It barely blows unless I am on the gas. I havent figured if I am going to tap a new hole on top of the intake or somewhere else to pull full vacuum at idle. Hope this helps you.

Re: defroster

I have a T fitting that splits off of the tranny's vacuum modulator line. Works fine for me.

Re: defroster

I have the same defroster issue. Just followed the vacuum line thru the firewall right to a split vacuum line. Hopefully that is the issue.

Re: defroster

My 85 has the cheap defroster, no air. Some enterprising mouses filled the plenum with mouse house stuff. With the fan on high if I rapidly switch between defrost and regular heat, it still occasionally spits chewed up cloth. You may care to vacuum yours out, I had to.
