Re: How many 2wd Blazers do we have?
It depends on what you call a back seat.....
With my notch and cover it going to take a smaller seat, stoc one will sit to high. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: How many 2wd Blazers do we have?
I have a 77 going through the transformation. I am new to the site, and did post a intro message a few days ago, but just saw this thread. Glad to see the enthusiasm for the old Blazers!
I have posted both the before and the current state pictures. I am still making it straight, but hope to pull it off the frame in the next 6 weeks and work the chassis and such... |

Re: How many 2wd Blazers do we have?
Damn forgot about this thread.. Here is a update for my blazer..
We started doing the rear and here is a pic of where the axle should sit when layed out.. They we took off the front and found out why everything didn't line up correctly.. The truck was hit pretty good on the front corner and they "tried" to straighten it. The whole front clip was help on by two bolts (the only ones that lined up). So instead of trying to fix someone's screw up I found a new frame for $150.. Only bad thing is that it's a 4wd frame so now I'm like most people that have converted them now. Except my VIN still reads 2wd GMC.. lol Here is the latest progress.. It's been slow because of work and other things but going to get working on it more the end of the month.. This was the last pic before we pulled everything off.. Tell ya without the shell on it rode so much better.. lol |

Wow, I see that I posted a picture while under construction, but that appears to have been 2+ years ago. Go t it done since then!

Here is a 2wd '81 that I built back in the late 90's. Should have never sold it, looking for another one now.

Re: How many 2wd Blazers do we have?
Few pics.
So I went up to the farm to see if I could get some nice pics that justified the truck for what it really is. Not as bad as I have made it out. I do not think this truck has ever been in an accident and all the panels seem to be straighter than one could expect from a 40year old. I had removed the license plate whe. I started to look at getting the Towbar made up. It was held in place by two rusty panel screws, one broke off in the backing plate, the other came out, so I just taped it in the rear window. Thames river in the background. From the farm I headed toward Rochester...... Of course stopping in for some fuel. Then a drive down the bypass motorway to get a good feel for the handling. It weaved lightly, and drew to the right all the time.
