Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em

I tried to get my truck aligned a few days ago and it looks like I have a bunch of mismatched tie rod ends in there and my center link is bent.

Im running 73 + suspension on my 69.

Im looking for the best deal for this stuff. Any ideas?

Have you tried you local auto parts stores yet.

Here in Missouri O'Reilly's is able to get a lot of the steering parts.

One of the vendors on this forum should be able to help you, hopefully one will chime in shortly.

There is no need to replace a center link unless it is bent. It's a non wear item. It's just a long bar with 4 holes in it. Nothing to wear out.

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em

We sell them and have them in stock except for the draglink

Moog or AC delco are $24.80 inner or outer =$99.20
Pronto runs $13.00 each inner and outer= $52.00

$7.00 shipping

Best is to buy them locally unless for some reason you can't get them

Yeah thats the basic service grade part. Do you want a quality part on your truck or the cheapest crap you can get. I still have memories of my buddy who killed an entire family when his restored Mercedes front end suspension fell apart and he hit them head on. When it comes to suspension parts its kind of important. They will work but how long are they going to last? If you notice the quality ones spicer/Raybestos make are $17.00 each

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em

I figured that it was an equal quality to OEM. What does service grade part mean anyways? I figured if Raybestos and Spicer made it, it was quality equipment. I may have to cancel my order now.

84-87 center link is different. The tapered hole for the idler arm is smaller starting in 84. Notice the idler arm part number changes in 84 to a different one than earlier trucks used. I learned this the hard way. I fully detailed and powdercoated one of mine and couldn't figure out why my idler arm wouldn't even fit into the hole. Turns out I had bought parts for an 82, but my center link is an 84 and newer unit. I couldn't easily exchange the idler arm for an 84 and later one, so I wound up getting an earlier center link to be able to use my new Moog idler arm.

They are just parts that meet the minimum requirements of the testing procedures set by the SAE and other Testinn Organizations
document
J1367_198109 for tie rod ends

The higher priced parts will exceed the minimum standards thus higher quality.

I would not say to cancel your order. Spicer and others make different grades for different applications

If you think about it you can buy a tie-rod end for $6.00 and $24.00.
There is a difference.

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em

Already canceled it. If there is that big of a difference in quality I want the better ones, especially with how hard I drive my vehicles.
so with that said, whats the best? Mogg or Ac Delco?
