Before and After

Alright fellas, I've had this truck for about a month now and after a lifetime of wanting a 70 something shorty and going through two project shortys that I got into WAY too deep I'm finally driving what I've been looking for all this time.... And it aint short. Turns out the look I wanted was long and low. I got this truck from the original owner. He bought and drove it here in Waco all it's life. (I don't think he ever vacuumed it out or washed it). I'm afraid to show it too him now because he might shoot me after the suspension work

This is ECE's 4/5 drop with shock relocators and super track bar. 2.5" drop spindles/1.5" drop springs in the front and 5" drop springs in the back. KYBs all around.

Tell me what you think.

Not much else really. The drivetrain and suspension/steering/brakes are all new. This weekend it gets new window rubber, regulators and door rubber to cut down on the noise and I'm considering replacing the rear gear with something a little friendlier to daily driving. I'm definitely re-doing the carpet and seat. Add a radio and maybe some aftermarket a/c next summer and that's about it. I'm ready to start cruising it to all the local meets and shows. I don't care if it wins anything, it's fun to drive and talk about.

Re: Before and After

Jim that turned out awesome!! It is the ochre/white chevy equivalant to mine. I love it! The amount of drop is perfect. I did 3.5/5 and it has settled to @ 4.5/5.75". So I would expect yours to drop a little more. Did you decide to keep the extra 390 lbs under the tailgate? I still have mine on my truck too. I can't even give that bumper away.

Re: Before and After

I don't think I could give that bumper away either but it definitely adds a certain amount of cool factor to the truck. Plus that damn thing is welded everywhere. I hope it doesn't settle out too much more though, it's actually lower already than I originally intented. It doesn't ride too bad now so I guess a little lower won't be too bad.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

No, sorry. These are the only wheels I have. The steelies/hubcaps went away when I sold my 69.

Yes the pics were taken at Cameron Park. Not SeeTen quality but they turned out pretty good.

Re: Before and After

That turned out nice... and you chose the best products IMO. Nice choice!

I do understand what you mean about returning to the PO's house and showing them the truck after suspension modifications.... I have the same fear of returning with my '69 that I lowered 4.5/6".

You two are right on ... these trucks just have a cool factors that most other trucks can't match.
