64 GMC newbie from MO

Hello, all, and thank you for allowing me to join the group! I am a long-time lover, and first-time owner, of the 60-66 Chevy/GMC body style. I have wanted one for as long as I can remember, and finally recently acquired a 64 half-ton out of Kansas. I am planning a frame-off project with some modifications.
My only experience to date has been a number of ill-advised years spent on Datsun Z-cars, and I have never taken on a project of this size, or any level of body work. I know very little of these trucks, and WILL be asking many questions. I invite everyone to make comments/questions/suggestions/and provide any information on best places to find body parts, etc.
I am planning front disc brakes from a 78, power steering, A/C, 5-speed overdrive manual transmission, a somewhat updated interior, and most notably a conversion to a 6.2 diesel out of an 84 GMC. I intend to document my build and post many pictures. What I am starting with:

GMCMG ...Hey nothing wrong with spending time on Z cars. I have been into Corvairs and Corvettes but my heart lies in these old trucks. These old trucks have played a major role in America. Looks like you have a very neat to work on. Merry Christmas
