Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I wish I had the $$$ to do it right now but in due time. I will be trying to go to a local show tomorrow and delivering a welder to a friend. I am stoked to get Choncho out and ride.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Choncho got a top 25 award. We had a good time but it was a hot one. My beautiful wife relaxing in the shade.. The show benefitted a Boy Scout troop so I got my old leader shirt out and put it on my seat.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

We went to the Southeastern Truck Nationals today and had a great time. There were a LOT of trucks and more vendors this year. Choncho got a top 25. Look forward to next year.

Man, I really wanted to make the show but it just didn't work out. I'm definitely planning to come next year. Maybe I'll have a truck ready to show by then. Who am I kidding? Doubtful. Haha

Hope to see Chonho in person one day!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I washed the truck today. had to get the tree sap and bird poop off. I parked under a tree at the show for shade. While my wife was sitting there at the back of the truck she noticed the tailgate handle was crooked. I fixed it today. I think i'm rubbing off on her. I would always see a piece of trim on trucks that was a little off. You know too low or just not straight and I'd notice it. She has a good eye.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I have a few lol.

Its a 59 with a 68 or 69 pan and motor and suspension. disc brakes, 4'' narrowed beam. lowered spindles, electronic ignition, retro sound stereo. It runs great just has some oil leaks that I need to address. A lot of Empi stuff like wheels, shifter, exhaust.

I have a thread on it in Alternate tinkerings titled My 59 Bug. The link is in my signature. \/

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I started taking the stuff off thats not needed on of the 3/4 frame rails. The frames been cut where it needs to be for the swb conversion.( just the straight cut.Haven't cut the notches yet. ) I have heard that the 3/4 and ton frames are a little thicker so I think it will be good for the shortening. I have most of the pieces off of this piece but had to stop because of the rain.

Still my favorite truck on the board! So glad I got to put a little love of my own in this build! Missing my Nashville truck buddies!
