Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I ordered a plug off of ebay to fill the original fuel filler. I also bought some polished stainless wipers. I'll post a pic of them when I get them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got a little done today. I got the exhaust manifolds painted. I also got the heat heat riser stuff on. The pass side isn't tightened up yet.I have to get the Vintage Air bracket out and get it painted. When I get the compressor on I'll be able to tighten everything.

I did get the spark plug heat shields cleaned and painted but I can't seem to find my small bolts for these. I'll have to keep snooping around till I come across them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

thanks mcbassin,VA72C10,
72LSK10, I wanna go with the original blue color. Its light blue but you can really see the original color where the windshield was. I've got the ppg code somewhere.
Zoomin, Once I ever get it running I'll be getting it dirty. I'm not one to be detailing a lot and stuff. Honestly I'm just lazy. LOL

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got to putting the heat shields and little clips and have forgotten where they(the clips for the wires) go. I think they attach to the oil pan screws one on each side, but I don't know which one. Also the clip for the tranny cooling lines. I put it on but am not sure if I got it in the right spot.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks. Haven't done anything last couple days. I need to clean up another ps pump and swap it out. Got my ac brackets out and on hangers and no paint wouldn't you know it? I'll get some tomorrow and get them painted. The brackets look like brushed stainless steel but I'm going to paint them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I did a little tonight. I test fit the distributor. It didn't want to sink at first but got it to. It'll probably need to be reset since I don't think I'm a tdc anymore. I also got the ac brackets painted and the compressor on. I tightened up the exhaust manifold.

But what you do on these trucks are top notch. I wish I could see you finish this one. Just think you could finish and keep it for years to come and just take the truck for an evening run remembering the fun times you had building these trucks. I wish luck though with the sell.....

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I did some more little stuff today. Got the 2 into 1 pipe on so I can get a muffler and run it like that till I get to the exhaust. Put the tranny and oil dipsticks in. and the line to the modulator for the tranny. cleaned and painted some more tower clamps. Put the top hose on. Still have to get thermostat and gasket. Took the power steering pump off and cleaned and painted a correct one. I think I'm going to get new tranny cooling lines soon.
