Re: Well sold my 86 this week

I need a newer truck for my family so I sold it and a 4 wheeler and bought a 07 Z71 classic. Right now I am in love with it. But It did hurt a little to see it drive away.

yeah those seats look pretty nice in there but i see that some of the threads about those seats they say that they are a bit too narrow for the square bodies.

Re: Well sold my 86 this week

Don't lean on the bed of the '07 or you will be rewarded by a dent. I own one and it is a colossal mistake with 4 wheels. It's an extended cab, the doors sound like tin cans when they shut, and the weatherstrips leak wind noise. Also, the rear speakers are Radio Shack rejects. It uses 2 quarts of oil between changes, but don't worry, it holds 6 quarts, and there is a warning light that comes on. And won't go off until you put more in. Also, when your transmission makes the truck jump forward at stop signs, don't ask GM to fix it, they won't.

Well sounds like you had the new body style. Mine is the old body style. You are right about the thin sheet metal. I had a 07 gmc nbs service truck and I loved the interior but hated the body. That is why I think I like this one so well. I will take pics today.

The seat came out of a 1994 silverado. The seat that was in the 86 was trash and found this one at the junk yard and made it fit. Had to adapt the seat track fromt the 86 seat for it to bolt to the 94. Was a little work but it was worth it.

Re: Well sold my 86 this week

Wow, your old 86 looked clean. I would have hated to see that go, but good luck with your new truck. I had to get a family SUV a couple of years ago. I don't regret it a bit (TBSS). But I didn't get rid of anything, just put some other projects on hold.
