Re: Need help!

You know your needs and budget more than we do. I just hate to see someone become enamored with the vision of an end result that isn't financially feasible. All too often this leads to a project that becomes a costly lesson in frustration.

If your determined to ride this out, and get the 24's to fit, I encourage you to stick with it.

He would have to narrow the steering linkage aswell to be able to align the front end. I say KEEP the 24's and make them tuck! Go BIG or go home right? I didnt realize the truck was Z'd if the guy did a Z correctly he should have no problems narrowing the front control arms and steering. Here is a pic of the steering from IFCUSTOMS. And a pic of a board member LAYED on 24's also Z'd Good luck and keep the pics and progress coming!

Re: Need help!

A DM was never in my budget, never will be. I'd like nothing more than to have one on those bad ass members on this truck but in all reality, never gonna happen in this life, and I've come to deal with this.

Now back to MY options again lol. Anymore info on this silver and red C-10 Z'ed on 24's?

No more DM talk, I fully understand it's best but unless they take IOU's I'm out. No $1000 a wheel specially designed wheels, is so I'm out unless they take IOU's lol.

Re: Need help!

This may be a little 'off the wall', but is there enough meat on the hub surface of the rims to have some material machined off to change the backspacing? Looks like 1/2 inch would be enough....Never done this, or heard of it done, so maybe its bad JuJu, but maybe a wheel engineer can tell you?

This has crossed my mind. There's atleast 4-5inches on the back.
Only thing is there's a lip where the lugnut holds the wheel to the rotor that can't be taken off.

Re: Need help!

24x10 w/ 6.91 bs
22x9.5 w/ 5.752 bs (same as a 10" rim with 6.252 bs)

Not gonna work.
Break out the tape measure and calculator.

Re: Need help!

Your on a small budget w/big dreams.Nothin wrong w/that but you have to build the chassis w/the wheel/tire dimensions in mind.
Trimming the inner skin would give you quite a bit of room from 0-2"s ride height.

The bs I need for a 10in rim in the front is 6.29 so the 9.5 with 5.752 should be just shy of perfect it's only 2 hundredths.

Re: Need help!

This truck was built on a somewhat small budget, that's correct but at the same time it was built correct. I'm more of a build that was built for a 32in tire in back but the bs was never decided. I hate math and hate measuring for this stuff but I have my measurements for a wheel that fits but can't find anyhing.

Thats the problem w/low end(off the shelf) wheels,,they are for unmodified vehicles and dont offer bs to accomodate. If the trucks worth keeping, its worth a proper set of wheels.1K a wheel sounds like alot but its worth every penny when you consider all the benefits.
Keep lookin,,I guess,or run some small steelies...I like that look.

I'll more than likely run a small wheel.

Re: Need help!

I guess I misunderstood.
I thought the 24x10's that didn't fit had a 6.91 bs.

A 10" rim with a 6.29 bs is the same as an 8" rim with a 4.29 bs.
To me,... that doesn't sound like enough backspacing.

Good luck with your wheel search.
Keep us posted.

Re: Need help!

The one that didn't fit was 5.91 on a 10in wheel. My 20x8.5's were 5.106bs and they were like a car bs and sunk way back in.

Pretty sure there is a very valuable lesson in planning that can be learned because of this post.

Good luck.

Seems to be a recurring theme.

Good luck finding a wheel that will fit with what you've got off the shelf. You've gotta pay to play, cuz your going to spend the money one way or another, so might as well make it with the simplest parts.

Re: Need help!

Sooo, what you guys are saying is that it would have been best to have a under a big shade tree bag job and $1000 a piece Intro wheel? I'm a go big type a guy but not a type that wants to take a loan out for wheels. I still need a bed floor, along with a lot of stuff that's way up on my list of priorities but I gots no wheels lol.

Re: Need help!

I'm almost correct, Intro Twisted Vistas, $4495. I've thought about it and my morgage is way more important. Looks like I'm unbagging my truck and going hot rod again.

Re: Need help!

I don't think anyone here is trying to tell you to unbag your truck, or not to run 24s. I do however think that it aggravates people when you won't acknowledge the advice they are giving you.
WHICH IS: you are going to have to find a wheel that fits. If u want I'd be happy to meet you over at jj's or you could come over to my shop and I'll help you measure to find out exactly what backspacing will work.
