1971 rear leaf springs

I have searched the posts, but wasn't able to find an answer, maybe you guys could help me out. my truck is a 1971 chevy C10 (or K10, it's the 4x4 model, but in this year it was still labeled C10 for whatever reason) it has about 6 inches of lift, but the lift in the rear is with blocks and has, what appears to be, helwig spring helpers. part of my plan is to do a shackle flip kit, which will turn the leafs to compression leafs instead of tension leaf springs and hopefully get rid of the blocks, or at least get 2 inch blocks rather than 6 inch blocks to prevent axle wrap. i know that there are a few different length leaf springs that came with these trucks, is there a generic way of measuring them, or does anyone know what the length short bed 1971 rear leaf springs are? also, if the shortbed comes with the shorter leaf springs, how hard would it be to install the longer ones? my truck rides pretty much like a forklift now, and has very little articulation, longer leafs would help out both aspects.
