50th Anniversary item / Christmas present
I received this from my parents for Christmas - it's a promotional item for the 1968 trucks that reads "This special golden anniversary achievement award is presented to you by Chevrolet and your dealer for recognizance of your efforts in the golden demonstration program. The nugget used is an actual reproduction of a raw gold nugget from the famous comstock lode." from the New Trucks Department merchandising manager. (It's a tie pin.)
My dad owned and operated a Chevrolet dealership from 1956 to 1982, and they occasionally pass along rarities like this since they know how much I appreciate them... I just wonder how many more they have stashed away! |

Very nice collectable item. I've seen and collected some 50th annevesary stuff over the years but I've never seen that.

Re: 50th Anniversary item / Christmas present
I've got the 50th Anniversary Promotion package from Chevrolet with all the 35mm color slide film promotions...very cool. I DON"T HAVE A GOLD NUGGET TIE CLIP EITHER!!!!! Ask your Dad if he has any extras he wants to sell! Heck have him sign up on the board and show us all his collectibles and dispel those rumors about Corvette options in trucks...SS trucks and the like. He would probably be rolling on the floor at some some of the crazy things some people come up with.
