hey Jeff, did you happen to stumble across that bracket yet? Like I said no rush, and I understand if you haven't looked as it's pretty cold around here. Trevor

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Was cruise control available in 72 from the factory? or were they all dealer installed units? If it was available would this be the exact same set up?

Thanks,Ray

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

No it was not a factory option in 1971 or 72. It was available from the dealer. No option code is listed in the 71 or 72 dealer data books that I have, but you could order it in 69 or 70. Maybe even 68, I can't remember for sure.

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Jeff, I will look at the ones I have, I don't think that one is the one I am looking for unless the one on your truck matches this one. I have the correct servo like yours now and am just missing the transducer mount. Trevor

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

I'm off tomorrow Trevor, I will compare it with the one on my truck. I moved a bunch of snow and found that in a box and didn't even think to compare them. Think I was a bit numb from the cold.

I am not familiar with pricing on this item, but would like to ask your opinion on the price. Does the unit look complete to you?

I am considering the purchase of the item, but would like your input...thanks for your time

If Roger says it's complete, it's complete. Roger is a stand up car guy. Bought NOS parts from him in the past.

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Its complete minus the tee, which can easily be made from your existing tee but it also has the wrong switch. He does say that he has the correct under dash switch that he will include for another $95. It's a bit more than I would spend, but it is very nice and you don't see them listed in that condition very often. The 71-72 servo shown is an extremely hard part to find.

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Thanks Guys! Great input! I was looking for Rep. of the guy and you provided that. Correct switch at this point isn't worth an additional 100

I have two problems

I have a 1406 Edelbrock with Lokar throttle and kickdown cables....mounting bracket for cruise/vacuum cable may be an issue

Accel HEI, which is very large, not much space on the firewall for vacuum mount

Any input?

So, if I can get around these two problems I may go for it

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

the vacuum does not mount on the firewall like the 68-70 cruise. It mounts on top of the inner fender on the D.S. The transducer mounts off to the side facing the motor on the inner fender. Jeff, I just picked up the correct servo 2 weeks ago on ebay for $8, but like I said, I am missing the transducer bracket like what Roger has. I looked at all of them I have, I have 2 (68-70), 1 (72), 1(73-80). I believe you have the 73-80 type in the pic, but I bet you have the correct one like Roger has on your truck. Trevor

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Just looked Trevor, and its not like the one on my truck. I found another that I had but its completely different too. Sorry, I guess I'm not much help.
Good score on the servo, I used to watch Ebay like a hawk for the cruise parts, you have found some great deals up there!

Thanks for the info, solves one of the problems. Do you have any pics or info. on how the cable mounts to the intake/carb?

Re: For those looking for correct cruise

Jeff, what does the other look like? I could tell you pretty much from looking at it what style it is.

Jaros, Jeff has the instructions for installing these, it should give you an idea of how everything goes together. My truck is in pieces right now getting it's second rebirth. Trevor

Well, it was a '72 Jimmy, but I put a '68 Chevy front clip on it. GMC grille just had too much chrome on it for my liking!

Hooking it up to the carb is my only problem now, just doesn't seem like there are enough places to hook up the vacuum linkage. Maybe he'll help me out with pics
