If you are on a budget, get a skip white HEI distributor on ebay. They are about $50 and a major upgrade from points style ignition.

Clean, paint and detail the engine compartment so the new motor has a pretty home.Use either stock or aftermarket wire looms and keep everything looking neat. It's a lot easier now than after everything is done.

^.. Agree! this is good advise! clean, paint, and redress anything under the hood you feel needs attention.

also, you might want to get an old pair of valve covers and cut them up so you can use them during valve lash adjustment, helps keep all your hard work clean a little longer.

Re: Excited..Any Suggestions??

OK, here's whats going in:

New 350
Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold
Edelbrock Performer Carborator
MSD Distributor
Edelbrock Valve Covers
Edelbrock Air Cleaner
New Starter
New Altenator
New Water Pump
New Timing Cover
New Motor Mounts
New Fuel Pump & Filter
New Flywheel
New Harmonic Balancer
New Belts & Hoses

I AM PUMPED!

Does anyone happen to know the color code for the burnt orange color that Chevy has been using on some of the Vette's and the HHR and the Avalanche? I think that's the color I'm going with for paint with black interior. I'll post pics when we finish the engine! THanks for all the help guys!
