Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
a couple pics of the rocker/ floor the pass side is not too bad and torsion box is complete and solid... the driver side... well lets just say this.... I have to reconstruct the torsionbox from scratch after replacing the inner rocker/ outer floor and replace the cab support...
then place a new floor section any parts you folks have laying round for this bucket that might help or advice feel free to chime in...

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
My drivers torsion box did not survive the winters here in wisconsin either. We ended up making new ones for my 76. If you are interested I could send you a print of what we did and you can make your own. its not going to look factory but it will work.

anything you can forward would be great...i need to make a couple of those too... by torsion box i mean the panel under the floor that is welded to the lower rocker and connects to the floor outside of the frame rail....
all the convertible ones had them from 69 till 75.... see pic for an idea what im talking about my 72 has them this pic is on the passenger side...

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
got my full quarters this week.... the left is off an 85 it has very minor rust and will need repair where we torched the "safety roof" post off of it but for 30 bux ill take it! the right is an NOS full quarter.... $100!!!!! should save alot of time on body work!!!!
the only things left now to buy is front cab flor supports and floor patch panels, I have the OE style rockers and backers already... I have located a pair of solid doors on a 73 I installed my tailate and window regulator and installed an OE crank I got off a guy on the Evil bay... I still need to figure out ohow to remove the lock cylinder out of it since it came without a key and is in the lock postion so i used the one i had and swapper the crank handle... ..cant wait for the weather to lift some so I can begin cutting off the old rot...

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
i cant imagine they go "topless" up there too much either... im installing a cab cage that will double as support for a custom soft top (like a cab) in conjunction with a tonneau cover.... NO carpet but rhino lined and factory rubber floor mats up front

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
Topless up here is usually Jeeps and cars, not to many trucks, but when you see one you can't help but stare. That will look good, and carpet is a pain if your doing mudding

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
got the motor and transmission out of the plow truck along with the plow assembly off and said bye Bye to the truck... I got 2 clean 79 doors and $100 for the carcass... traded the visor for a flex plate.... Ill post pics later.... Not too bad plowed my driveway all winter, a nice runnin 350 with a TH350 and a plow... $800- like $150 for doors and $100 cash... say 550 for a plow and drive line... motor and trans dropped like 4 drops all winter... but i cleaned em up and resealed the valvecovers that werent sealed very well... rebuilt a 74 truck carb.... Got a 73 harness from a donor....
once I get the stuff from Bigdnew Ill be pretty much set... this week / weekend i plan to remove the dead TH350 and drop in the motor n trans..

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green
now pictures of the rot removal and the truck with a cwol brace to help re allign the tub for the grafting of front and rear outer sections I think Im going to have to fabricate a floor brace abd a few other goodies as most of the repair panels arent really designed for this application ( the first series of Gen2 K5's are kinda unique in their construction..)
