new master cyl on 80,s truck?

Can I put on the newer plastic master cylinder on my 80,s truck and get rid of the old cast one,no power brakes thou

You can, but there are dozens to choose from.

You need to pay attention to:

Bore Diameter
Quick take up vs non quick take up
Flare type (iso vs us)
Flare location (inboard vs outboard)
Reservoir location (ie, front location feeds front system, vs front location feeds rear system)
Reservoir size

Having said all that, if someone has a recommended part number (or code, like SR is a popular one) then you can just throw it on there and be all set!

I'd try to find a new(er) truck that is a comparable series to yours and see what it has on it, as a starting point.

What's your motivation? Weight saving? Underhood appearance? What's wrong with your current cast iron one?

They rust and they look better and I have nothing but problems leaking after sitting,I don,t where they come from but just not happy with them and I can,t afford a stainless steal one

I'm a little concerned about no power brakes, but just try to find one that fits your dash and then go from there -

My '83 with power brakes has the plastic reservoir if you need a year to look one up.
