77 3/4 ton brakes

can i take the rear wheel cylinder off my 77 3/4 4 wheel drive with out pulling the axle out? thanks

No. You have to pull the axle out to get the drum off, and you have to get the drum off to disengage the brake shoes from the wheel cylinder.

only if it is a Full Floater rear end right? The drum should come off of the semi floaters.

FF rears will always need to have the axle removed to replace the wheel cylinder.

yeah full floaters have to take the axle out, not sure about the semi floaters though, I've never seen one.

If you have a lite duty 3/4 ton it will have semi float rear (most common type). If so the brake drum will come off without removing the axle.
