A/C options
I have a 67' that did not come with factory a/c. I have seen there are several different systems availible.
Which one is the most un-noticeable? I want something that isnt gonna stick out like a sore thumb and dont want to try and piece together a factory a/c either. can someone point me in the right direction?

i have a vintage air system. it is a direct bolt on. it comes with great instructions. even templates to cut vent holes in dash for factory look. here is there web site http://www.vintageair.com/

I have the same question.
Has anyone ever put an OEM AC into our trucks? Perhaps from a newer model truck or car that would be compact? Im not talking about AC that would a new Ice Age but one that would cool the cab of our trucks.

I second Classic Auto Air! One big factor it has a heat coil and a cool coil just like GM it doesnt share a common haeting/cooling coil

on the hottest day my truck blows 36 degrees at the center vent

The hoses and receiver/dryer will be tossed but you need them for mock up. You need to cut and weld on your firewall. You need to modify your stock POA to work with R134a. You can do an OEM conversion for around $250. An aftermarket system will cost you around a grand. However an aftermarket system will come in one box. If you got time to save $750, go OEM. If you're a credit card wheeling, gotta have it now type, go with aftermarket.

you give up the glove compartment i bought a 1967 3 door suburban with one of them 1000.00 systems and the glove box is useless I like the factory air that came in the 1969--72 reason why i did not say 68 that was dealer added AC not the same I do have one question the center vent how necessary is it to have working cus i'm looking to put the dual speaker under the dash with Kenwood that have 180 watts per speaker and they say i can't use it do to it wont fit i just wanted to know if i just rerouted the hoses and not use the center vent will it affect how cool the truck will get

I did a vintage air kit and love it. I also have a usable glove box. It is smaller, but I don't keep anything but the owner's manual and spare fuses in there anyway.
