front drive shaft

Is the front drive shaft of a auto. transmission longer then one for a 3 speed.

I would measure the trans's first form bell to tail I don't think that they are different or just email special-K he will know for sure.

I went and pulled one out of a 67` 350 auto trans. got it home started to put it in and it is about an inch to a inch and a quarter to long for my 72` 350 3 speed.
