Which of these seats do you like???
Doing a little test fitting. The leather buckets are out of 98 Sub. The 60/40 out of a 90 Chev PU. The 98s are about the same height as stock, so fit pretty good. Here are some pics. First is 98's next to stock. Others show in truck.

In the truck
They sit about right...but I just can't do the Grey color in my Burg interior truck. Even with grey dash, arm rests & visors...won't work for me! Did they make these in Burgandy? They sure are comfortable.

90 PU 60/40 seats
I have these buckets in my Blazer. Very firm feel, which I also like. They are Burgandy, so I may have to run them for a while. Pretty basic forward & back...not all the power 6-way of the 98s.

I like the looks of the leathers in the truck but definitely need to change color. Going burgandy would really make the difference.

I personally prefer the leather electric, but for looks in that truck the red is better.
 Wish I had some of those buckets in tan or Black!!!

Stock seat looks good
Although the stock seat looks good, the old cushion with 30 years of bouncing up & down, has turned to mush. Even a dense foam pad on top will not save these things. They sink to the bottom when you sit on them. A new foam bottom cushion really helps...or a newer style seat.

Yeah I would go with the buckets and yes they made them in a burgandy color that would look great in your truck. The burgandy seats are real dark. I have seen these in light gray,burgandy,tan. No black. Kind of hard to get black anymore in any of the new style trucks

My 2 Pennies
Ok I like the seat types,
my choices first and best and last as hmm ok 1. Stock bench (have it re stuffed and colored) 2. The other Truck bench seat 3. leather buckets Have the Leather seats dyed to match I like the original looks myself, but its mainly your opinion, do you want to modifying and giving a more modern look or keep it the classic look? Well thats my 2 pennies! |

Easy answer
Which one does your arse like best? :p Actually I think the 90's bench looks the best since you wouldn't have to do much to get them set up. The 98's look way to squashed up in there and of course the color thing. My .01 + .01 says that the 98's just don't look right. But I kinda prefer the 90-94 style seats anyways. If you end up not using the 90 bench I'll take it off your hands

SEVEND2 said something about dying them so I will throw this in. Since the 70,s GM's "leather" seats are only leather on the front. The sides are vinyl which will give you fits trying to dye because the leather is much more absorbent of the dye...FYI

Frank, I was there when you brought those buckets home, I thought they were going in your flatbead? I have to tell you that I am extremely happy with my '90s Silverado bench and I think it's a good luck for our trucks. So I vote for the newer bench. Scott

i like the buckets and console. but if some one needs to sit in the middle go with the other seat.

Call me old fashioned but I like benchs in trucks (split or otherwise) and buckets in cars.

I personally like the bench. Any one know what year chevy made a bench with a foldable center console? My friend has a 94 regency chevy that has split leather bench with the console but i havent been able to track it down. also does anyone know what year the dodge came out with the split bench with folding console and the shoulder belt incoorporated in the head rest of the seat? any ideas would be great. i know it was in the 90s. THANKS

DONE!
OK. They are done. Very comfortable but firm. Notice the seats tip forward but not of much use with the stock tank back there. I did put a tank cover/carpet on and that is a nice improvement...quiet, clean and looks good. Also, see the aftermarket shoulder belts slip right through the RH seat.
