Which front cab support do i buy?

My 72 cab has been painted and i am getting excited to start working on it.The front cab supports are rusted and missing metal pretty bad only on the bottom of them.I see there are two different replacements a slip on or a OE style.Which one would you use and which one would require more work.I am guessing the OE style would require completely removing the existing support and installing new one.And the slip on would go over existing one and be a whole lot easier to replace. Is this correct?

That is correct, but with the slip on style, you're just covering the rust. With the OE style you can remove the rust. My .02

When I did mine I cut back the support to good rust free metal and welded in a chunk of the new one. its really solid but has a weld on it.

As said in other post, the slip ons just cover the rust.Sure it's a little more work to fix it correctly, but worth it in the long run.

Buy the OEM style. Make sure first you need to buy any. If it only has small holes you can cut them out and weld new in w/o having to replace. Saves money. The slip on are a lighter weight then the reproduction OEM ones to.
I don't know why we even offer them for sale. We have only sold one set and they were returned and money happily refunded.
