kick panel vent sheet metal question

Howdy folks,

I pulled the upper cowl on my 69 c-10 and vacuumed out 5 or so years of leaves looking for rust, and boy did i find some.....

The location of the rust down in the sides(the round area of the cowl behind the fenders and above the vent hole) leads me to believe that i may have to replace the sheet metal for the vent holes. I was wondering if anyone knew if the oval kick panel vents were the same size in 69 as they were in the later 73 to 87 trucks since all i can find in the junk yard is newer metal and i don't have a correct-year parts cab. I won't know for sure until i pull the fenders and drill out the spots welds to access the inner cowl, but if they are the same size i may butcher an 84 cab i will be scrapping soon to get the metal out before i scrap it tomorrow.
