Your Garage
I want to see pics of where all the magic happens.
I just moved to a new house with a bare bones barn that I need to make into a functional garage and I'm looking for ideas. Post pics of your garage/workspace. Thanks. |

Re: Your Garage
Here is my Model-T sized "garage" that has more crap in it than you can imagine. Organization is key, except that just went out the window when I ripped out my old trans/engine and had a new 383/trans arrive today - boy is it tight in there!

Re: Your Garage
looks like his jeep is a cj2a as they had the two piece windshield could be a cj-3a with a 2a windshield though, and if the chrome headlite trim rings are original that makes it a 46' or later as 46 was first year of chrome rings i'm restoring a 1949 2a with my dad so thats how i know he makes sure i research evreything before i can lay a finger on any of the restoration projects we do, let me tell you that is actually one of the best ways to do a resto by the time your done researching u dont want to quit the project because u put so much work into it before u even hit the wrenching stage. that u want to see the finished project to. justify the work!

Re: Your Garage
The willys is a 1947 CJ-2A the shop is 24'by30' with 10' ceiling I wish I had made the walls 2' taller then a hoist would be a option to put in. It's just a bit low for that now.

Re: Your Garage
Willy's. What is that round metal tube sticking out the front of your garage? I'm jealous of the forest like surroundings you live in. I guess that's what you get in B.C. Canada. Thanks for the post

Re: Your Garage
Beatcoaster, A small garage gets used up pretty fast with two engines/trannys and two dirt bikes. My garage is a little smaller than yours and I have around 50 bikes (another sickness).

OHONE. I like the huge banner on the wall, I would kill for 12' of headroom, right now the barn/garage has about 7'.

I built that shop recently with the intent of getting a lift one day. There are some deed restrictions here or I would have put up a metal building. 30 X 32 with 12 walls isn't cheap to build when it's bricked and roofed to match the house. It sure looks better though.

Re: Your Garage
My garage in 2008:
My garage in 2009 when we moved in (packed full of "home renovation crap" at the moment) It's 22x24, definitely on the small side, I wish it was at least 6 feet wider accross the front.

Re: Your Garage
Here's mine...6" walls with gas heat it's 24ft 8 30ft. I wish I could have made it bigger but the cost was too much more.I also wish I would have made the ceiling 13ft so I could have put a lift in later....like now.
