gonna go with this sbc 305, wanting to know if the motor mounts would set the motor back far enough, 4'' from center to center.

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
Lookin' good. Nice work. How did you mount the cab? Make your own mounts, buy them, use the Mongo method? How far off the frame?

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
Nice. Good work. Any idea what the first front and rear bumper are from? I've got a couple of DeSoto bumpers that look like that. I wish they were a few inches wider, I may do an over rider on the front and cut it in half so it fits better and has a place for a plate, though I don't need one in MI.
Like the motor as well. Looks purty. Last edited by Dan Bowles; 02-12-2010 at 08:31 AM. |

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
The front hits my fenders on both sides so its a bit narrow, that's why I'm thinking of adding an over rider and cutting it.

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
yea Dan,.. with out cutting and making it wider you would have to stick it out like this guy did...i have an extra bumper if you need it.

That might be something I'm interested in. My mom and her man are in Frostproof FL...maybe I should make them come through Gainesville on their way north!

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
I saw another fellow by the name of daddyman use one of those tanks for his airbag setup. He just drilled out four port holes and tapped them. It looks just like his. Really cool. Wish I could find two for my builds.

Re: '52 GMC custom/S-10 swap
Did you see my post about using scissors jacks to level your cab and get your mounting in? Don't know if you are using shackle mounts in the rear or not but it's a great way to get level. I get mine for $5 each at the junk yard...or I use old test units because that's what I make for GM. Impala ones have a 19 mm/ 3/4" hex driver.
