Need HELP.. Rear axle info

Ok guys, I really need your help with this one. I bought what i think is a camaro rear axle today. I just need help determining if it is from a camaro, what year, and what type and gears. It has a really wierd front housing that i havent seen before (check picture) and came with a torsion or panhard bar setup on it. It does have disc brakes and the standard 5 on 4-3/4 lugs. Any info you guys have would help me out alot. Thanks....

Re: Need HELP.. Rear axle info

That is a 7.5 10 bolt. I don't think those came with 2.34 gears, so I'm thinking that is 13:42 stamped on the ring gear (not 18:42) which would give you 3.23 gears which sound about right. But if that is 18:42 stamp on that ring gear I stand corrected. But thats a strange gear ratio to have with a later model 7.5 10 bolt.

Yes its posi (limited slip), and was in a 3rd Gen Camero year is 1988 through 1992. The tag says it has 3:43 gears, but the numbers on the ring gear indicates it's 3:23. 42 divided by 13 will give 3:23 gears. Its not a strong rear but if you are not building a powerful engine you should be okay. Sorry I don't have any pics of the rearend installed in its stocked form.
