crossmember??

im looking to put a ls motor and 4l60e or 4l80e in my 72. i know i have to put a special crossmember in. my question is who makes these and how much do they usually cost?? i would like to find a reasonable one for i dont want to have a fortune tied up in a crossmember..thanks,,robbie

If it is 2wd you can use the stock transmission crossmember and maybe move it. There are lots of motor mounts and adapter plates for the 2wd aplications. Pacific fabrication makes an engine crossmember for 4WD LS swaps but a minimum 4 inch lift is needed. If you want a 4wd LS swap at a stock ride height will take some custom work. I am working on that now. Lots of information in my LS swap thread in my signature.
