A Gear vendors overdrive is a two speed planetary gearset with ratios of 0.7:1 and 1:1. This allows you to split ratios in any in any gear turning a 3 speed turbo 400 into a six speed transmission. The unit replaces the tailshaft.

I'm running a set of 4.10 gears in the rear end. This unit effectively allows me to switch from a 4.10 rear to a 3.07. Gives the best of both worlds...1800 rpm at 70 mph on the freeway in 3rd or launch at 4.10.
