Update-Need Head Count...1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet August 7th...

First...I have gained permission to post this here...Ok now for the info.

Vintage Trucks Magazine has a meet the 1st Saturday of Aug. at Youngs Dairy in Yellow Springs Ohio. The meet is geared for all makes and model of trucks for 1980 and older. Last year they had about 250 trucks and it was their 8th gathering..

This is geared towards the family...they have a petting zoo, mini Putt Putt, good food and ice cream. Now this might change for 2010 but it will still be a family friendly event.

Now the question...I am considering our 1st mini Mid-Ohio meet for our internet family. This event is held on a Saturday from about 8-4. If we arrived together there is a good chance we could all park together.

Patrick Ertel who is the editor of Vintage Truck Magazine emailed the following to me...
Quote:
I’m looking forward to seeing you at our show. I hope we can make some contacts there with owners of reasonably stock 67-72 Chevys or GMCs to feature in our magazine.
Thanks again!
So the next question is...if I proceed to put some work towards a mini meet how many of you all would be interested. I hope to have prizes and pics taken, plus what ever we can think of. This could also be a way of advertising this site.

The ball is now in your court. What say ye?

PS: Yellow Springs is just south of Springfield Ohio. Springfield Ohio is between Dayton and Columbus.

The Circuit Rider better be done by then ... But it will probably cost me a small fortune in gas to get to Yellow Springs. Geeee...maybe my 402BB will get 20mpg.

It's official...70cstjr will be going. Also the first two prizes have been donated. Whats next? Maybe one of those rare corvette options? I am planning on spending Friday night in Springfield. Maybe a crusie in some place. Ideas for Friday night or Saturday at the show?

Wow, that’s great Dewayne. If you get your mini meet organized soon enough we can mention it in Vintage Truck. We’d need the info before the end of March though.
Vic will respond about the banner request. I think she has talked to someone, but I’m not sure.

I'm in, I have been there before, it's great. There were some really cool Divco trucks the last time I went.

I'm back in town, give me a hollar if you need anything! I could use some time working on an old truck anyways, since mine is still in Arizona

The Vintage Truck Show is geared for trucks 1980 and older but...for me this 67-72 Mid Ohio mini meet is open to all members with all model year trucks who want an opportunity to put faces to the names of our 67-72 internet family.

The truck will still be in pieces, but I'm planning on it. I've been eye-balling this since you posted in the OHIO section.

Re: 1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet This August...Who's Game?

I realize this is a long ways off...but in our busy lives we need to book events in order to make them. I am hoping to get 15-25 trucks at the show. Who knows...maybe we might make the Vintage Truck Magazine as a group. I am going to try and get some prizes rounded up. Also this is open to all family members.

Hey...I am going to get a gas card so I can afford to make it there and back. Then I'll worry the next month on how to pay the gas card bill off.

Youngs Dairy has the best chocolate milk. I wish I could come. I used to hang out in Antioch in the 60's when I was young and dumb. I grew up in Springfield.

So the next question is...if I proceed to put some work towards a mini meet how many of you all would be interested. I hope to have prizes and pics taken, plus what ever we can think of. This could also be a way of advertising this site.

On a side note.....dose this show have a entry fee? not that it matters.

and I dont expect you to single handedly shell out money for prizes/pics, and I would gladly pich in to help this event....
