This is a friends car that he bought at Hot August nights a few years ago. The body and paint are really nice, but the car ran like crap. He wanted something to drive in the summer and enjoy but with it running so poorley he has not enjoyed at all. The motor is junk, i think someone just put a paint job on it and put it in the car, clutch slips, rear end makes a awfull noise, all the glass looks like it was hit with the DA when the body work was done. all the rubber seals and window seals are junk. The plan is to rebuild the motor,clutch, rearend, install new glass/rubber seals,correct cowl hood, heater,seat belts..... So for the next month or so my truck will be on hold while i work on this. Plus it put's a little more $$$ in the truck fund.

I don't know where it came from. It is somebody's sad attempt to make it look like a cowl hood. It is pop rivoted on and bodyworked and painted. It's terrible. I have already ordered the correct hood for it. The motor went to the machine shop today, so i should hear back tommorow about it. Hopefully it will be a good rebuilder.

Nice car 69Gmcor70chevy. I got the motor/trans/rearend out over the weekend. I found out that the engine doesn't have alot of mles on it. When it was pulled apart it looked pretty good. Someone had replaced one piston/rod sometime after the engine was rebuilt. It had the wrong rod cap and was starting to ruin the bearings. So it was just one shift away from oblivion. So my buddy has it for machine work and assembly. It will get 10 to 1 pistons,a mild cam, mild head work. Also I will drop off the rear end monday for a little attention. Now it time for cleaning,cleaning and cleaning. Here are some pics of the progress.

The body and paint are in perfect shape. The only thing it needs is the correct hood for it. It will get a smaller wheel/tire combo up front and a little lowering for slight rake. It is a nice car, someone just really didn't take the time on the little things. Most of the problems are drivetrain related. The heater is missing,wrong door seals,the dash needs painted and new trim,glass needs replaced. When all of this is done it will be a fun/killer looking car. The smile maker will be the big block/4 spd when it done. I can't wait to drive it.

Here is my 68. It was one of my "stable" when I started college. It got sold in 1976 to finance another year of tuition. 327 PG, was a burn out queen with a pretty low posi rearend. Didn't know its history but the engine had double hump heads and a cam but 2bbl carb. I bought it from my wifes sister when they blew up the trans towing it back from Kansas. Kid I sold it to had money, went through it and painted it red. Interior was black.

My daughter is on the hood, I always used to joke with them that every car picture had to have a good looking babe in it!

Here is an update. I have not got as much done the last week or so as i had hoped. Wifey has been sick and work has been busy. Got the right fender off so i can get to heater and install.(trucks are so much easier) I picked up a 12 bolt posi for it. Went biscay's in centralia and spent a bunch of $$$$ on new parts. Bought the correct cowl hood, leaf springs, complete heater assembly, and a ton of small parts. Spent most of today pulling the front suspension apart to rebuild, and cleaning the engine compartment. The motor should be done this week. I hope to have the engine in by the end of next weekend but you know how that goes. Any way here are some pics, it looks like a mess now but hopefully it will look killer soon. I can't wait to get this done so i can get back to the 72'. Have a happy easter everyone.

I have been able to get a few things done this past week. Got all of the holes in the firewall welded up and bodyworked, shot some paint on afew things and most of the front suspension assembled. Hopefully i will get the brakes done and get some moreof the little things cleaned and painted tomorow. It should be ready for the new motor this week. Thanks for looking.

I got the front suspension wrapped up, all the new brakes installed, new fuel line. Bolted on the wheels so i could clean the garage a little. I am waiting on the motor now.I will start the interior work while i am waiting. The plan for that is to repaint the dash, install new glass, heater controls,dynamat, soe misc. trim and seals and fuzzys. I can't wait to get this done so i can get back to my truck.Thanks for looking.

I paid $1300 for it. They seam to go for $1200-1600 around here.
