How do I remove my gas pedal?

I am working on putting carpet in my truck and cannot seem to figure out how to remove the gas pedal from the floor. I am sure there are studs, but how do I get to them? Thanks for the help in advance.

Just pull the pedal up off the studs. The studs screw out of the floor.

Re: How do I remove my gas pedal?

I just removed my gas pedal in my 68 chevy c 10. I just pulled on the bottom or base of the pedal where it attaches to the floor. It comes right off. there's 2 studs on the cab floor that press in to the back of the pedal. Into rubber holes. A little pull and it should pop free...

Re: How do I remove my gas pedal?

Mine just fell off. I bought a new one. When I installed it I but a little dielectric grease on the studs, and pushed it back on. The pedal made the carb linkage hang up a little, and the truck would idle a little fast. So I put a little dielectric grease behind the pedal where it rubs on the wachamajiger. The lever on the floor. That took care of the problem.

I was wondering who would be the first to say that. LOL

on mine the studs gave up the ghost and the pedal fell apart. I fixed it by making a new pedal out of the long side of a curved exhaust pipe (shaped like a large soup spoon) and brazed it to the pedal arm.

Re: How do I remove my gas pedal?

Thanks for the help guys. I thought that it should be easy to remove. I just didn't pull hard enough the first time. I was too worried I would break the plastic.
