Re: all good in the hood!

Taking slices out of the side to lower it...

I'm not pancaking mine, but will be doing some interesting changes as I go forward.

I can't imagine it would look too good pancaked, it's really low profile to begin with, not like the pre-60's with the tall noses. If you pancake a 67-68 it'd probably look like a modern truck and kill some of the 67-72 feel IMO

Doesn't look pancaked to me, just looks like the leading edge was brought up to accommodate the later model grille profile (and I'd assume the latch components would be modded too)

For some reason, when I first read it I saw my old 68 hood in my head, tried to picture it pancaked... looking at the 72 pancaked, that actually looks pretty good, brings the profile more to the 67-68 height, while maintaining the front steep angle and width.

I think its chopped so it gives it the appearance of being longer. Nice truck though.

Re: all good in the hood!

IIRC the cab was stretched 4 or 5". hence the name "legroom"

Re: all good in the hood!

I also like the way the hood looks on the black truck. I can only imagine the amount of time it took to be that perfect.

Re: all good in the hood!

the black truck has a 2" chop on the top a 5 1/2" stretch and he grafted the bed to the cap one of the cleanest trucks i've seen

oh and i remember that not to long ago a hot rod mag did a whole thing on pancaking a 70's hood you might be able to find it online
