Arrow might be buying a 64 C40

Anything to look for on one of these. it runs and drives fine i have no ideal what kind of 6 cylinder it is. its only 650$ the only thing about is the brakes are a little weak. any pointers to this truck?

The engine is probably a 250 since it is a C40. The drivetrain in the C40's aren't much different than the C10-30's. The running gear and suspension is where the difference is. Does it have a 2 speed rear end? Trucks like these don't ride very well without a bit of weight on them, and they are low geared so freeway driving isn't going to be at 65. Bodywise they are mostly the same as the C10-30's except for the fenders, grill, grill panel, radiator support. The cabs are the same except for the floor and the lower firewall in the trans area.

You have to pressure bleed the brake system. You cannot bleed the system any other way. We made a pressure system out of pipe and fittings. If you know of someone who has a pressure bleeder then it's easy.

no it doesn't have the 2 speed rear. but it does have a good amount of cab rust on it somebody painted it with a roller so it doesn't look bad

Whether it's a good deal or not really depends on what you would do with it. Rust repairs are the most expensive part of restoration unless you can do it all yourself. If its simply going to be used as a yard truck this may not matter. Here's a thread that might help in making an informed decision:
