Who's lowered more than 6" in the rear?

I've got 6" springs in the back of my '64 right now, and I've heard you can go as low as 8" with 2" blocks and a C notch before you hit the bed floor. I was just under my truck the other day though, and noticed that the drive shaft is already maybe within an inch of the top of the driveshaft loop in the trailing arm crossmember. So my question is, who has more than six inches of drop in the rear, and what mods did you have to do to get there? Thanks, Barn-core.

Re: Who's lowered more than 6" in the rear?

My frame has a C-notch and at full drop, my rear end housing rests up against the frame inside the C-notch. I have a sheetmetal rearend housing, which is flat on top of the center section, so I only had to raise my bed floor .750". This way I did not have to cut a section out of my bed wood to allow the center section of the rearend housing to poke through.

Hey Barn-Core i did CPP's grand slam drop. 7". 5" spings, 2" blocks. relocated shock mounts and trak bar. Also CPP notch. Rides good! Just scraping sometimes in and out of driveways.

Re: Who's lowered more than 6" in the rear?

cpp has a crossmember with a larger driveshaft loop to give more clearance and larger drop

Re: Who's lowered more than 6" in the rear?

I'm more concerned about the driveshaft clearance than the bed floor. Has anyone gone lower than 6" without handing over their credit card info for new parts? Just wondering how others have modded their crossmembers for clearance.

Re: Who's lowered more than 6" in the rear?

Thanks Admiral, great looking truck, that's the stance I'm looking for. How much drop up front, oh and what size tires are you running?
