Longhorn72Chevy
I am officially the new owner of this really nice find. It is an original 1972 C/30 Cheyenne Super Longhorn with everything it came with mechanically. Even has an quidrijet on the motor. It use to be the delivery truck for Arrowhead Water Distributor out here in Kern County. It does not have a tach, but it has tilt, spare tire, door protection molding, working Airconditioning and a fifth wheel hook up to hall trailers with. Very clean and well maintained. Here are some pictures enjoy.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Next set of pictures, enjoy. I found this jewel out in the middle of knowhere and I mean knowhere. Coyotes run in packs out where this thing was. Yes, the ford hubcaps are going to be the first thing to go. I am putting my set steel, white blue bowties on that I refurbished.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Thanks Guys,
I am so impressed. I sold my C/10 Half Ton back in November and it was restored before. I really liked it, but I wanted my GMC Longhorn finally to get the attention and money it needed, so I sold the half ton. I am glad, because this walked into my life and what a truck. This is the 3rd one. The second one was a parts donor for the Longhorn 70 GMC. She runs and is getting a new seat cover, tilt column, wood bed kit, body mounts and new power steering gearbox. The new truck will be my daily driver until the other one is ready then I will start to fix on the new one and there is very little to do to that one. I will post more indepth pictures as soon as I get her to my house. It has power and is a manual 4 speed shift w/ granny. It has the original 402 BB with Quadrajet in it and can you believe the A/C works. Officially for the record I now have one GMC Longhorn Sierra Grande 3/4 ton and one Chevy Longhorn Super Cheyenne 1 ton. I wish you were all here to drive it; it is so smooth and straight. R/ Billy

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Hey Guys,
Picked it up today; It came with four extra tires and 2004 Aluminum 8 lug Chevy Rims and Hub Caps. He gave me one lug nut, standard size that will fit as a template to purchase the rest if I decided to use these wheels. First thing I did was put a stainless Chevy set of Hub Caps on it in place of the Ford ones. The other item I got with it as an extra 4 speed transmission for it in case. I will wrap it up and preserve it. It is different driving a 4 speed manual again. What’s funny is my 15 year old son has already laid claim to the truck. I hope to have more pictures for you this weekend. What do you all think of the fifth wheel? R/ Billy

Great looking Longhorn! You are few hours east of me, where the trucks don't rust...lucky. If you are ever out on the coast hit me up, we will have to go for a cruise.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Before that is was used to haul a camper, very typical of 3/4 tons in this era, notice the camper shock bracket on cowl. Companies usually buy base model trucks with minimal options, so they bought this one used from someone who originally used it as a recreational vehicle.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Hello All,
Here are some updated looks at the Beast. Notice the Ford caps are gone. I put a stainless set on for now. I can't reach my white steel ones yet up on the wall. It took me a week, but I finally got the glove box open again. I adjusted the latch and put oil on it. I used some screw penetrant, so I can remove it to clean things up a bit, no rust though. Enjoy the pics and I hope to have some engine pics on here soon. R/ Billy

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Here are some engine pics to show what is under the hood and the set up. Everytime I see another truck they are always set up different under the hood.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Last set for tonight. The first one is an under carrage pic and the second one is another side view with a stack of 16.5 deep dish off of the GMC in the garage. It is getting a 16 inch set with new tires.

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Very nice find.
It would be real difficult to find one in such original shape here in Southeast Missouri. You will learn to like the granny 4 speed, they are very sturdy. Both of my trucks have them, one has a 454 in front of it and the other a I-6 250. I was telling my son the other day it seems no two trucks are the same underneath the hood. Danny

Re: Longhorn72Chevy
Yes, it is amazing how much each and every truck is different under the hood.

Nice find! You know its a solid truck when the original R-12 A/C is still working. Now all you have to do is pick up that Suburban ambulance Gordon has there and your fleet will be complete
