I know the feeling takin me almost 4 years to get mine where it is today with the wife but she loves it she can't quit talking about it i wish i had pic's of when i first got it do you still have the 305? have you checked out 6066gmc website? he has alot of cool info he lives north of me about 80 miles whe i get enough money i am doing the holley 500 swap

while cleaning out the cab ,took the bench seat out of course, thought i might find some things of interest.. not really anything cool,...just lots of junk but two things i didn't throw out
(1) a BIG knife under drivers side!, and (2) this pictured part. i think has something to do with tire jack, or mounting of it, ..or??? guys? |

That piece holds the crossbar of the rear mounted spare tire carrier, up to the frame. Which in turn holds the spare tire up to the bottom of the frame.

I just read this, and I thought this was the coolest thing said in it:
"...i just want to get her running and road worthy , then go pick up pops from the old folks home and go for a ride...". That's great - these weren't even people you knew and you thought of that. That's really nice. Any old guy who hung onto an old truck he had driven , even after the years he was able to drive it...that'd be a gesture he'd appreciate. Obviously had sentimental value to him the whole time. I will subscribe to this...hopefully if you ever do that (shouldn't be too hard, since the truck's still in 1 piece) you can post up pics here. I took a car back and showed the guy who had owned it (40+ years, and all I had done was get it roadworthy and polished it up...not even restored yet.
