V-8 wanted. Good running, not leaking, plain V-8 (south east)

We are hunting a plain, normal, good, fair price, good compression fairly leak free GM V-8 here is the south east somewhere. I know they are all over Craigs list but I really dont trust the "running great when pulled" ad. I had a good running, complete, low mile 307 I donated to project "Purple Ice" and now it seems we need another engine for our 1967 C-30 dump budget build. We arent really picky on size...283, 305, 307, 327 or 350 but we would like a tight, good running, fairly leak free, RELIABLE complete engine. Im sure there are plenty of you that are ready to upgrade or upgraded already and saved the old original engine....If you are ready to let it go...let me know.We would prefer to be able to check compression but if its already out, please just shoot straight with us about its condition.

Thanks
