Will or can I make 15 inch wheels fit an 8 lug Dana 60 and 14 bolt

I need help determining if 15x10 wheels will be able to fit over the the calipers and drums of a Dana 60 front and a 14 Bolt ff rear. The axles are going under my 1991 1/2 ton Suburban 4x4. I already have a new set of the tires I want to use and they are 15 inch. I like the old school look also. If any one has any information for me I would greatly appreciate it.

It all depends upon the back-spacing of the wheels. Some will work, some will not.

I had 15x8s with 4 1/4" offset, had to grind the calipers down, but not hard to do, just timing consuming. The less b/s, less grinding.

But if you get to little backspacing you may run into increased wear on your bearings and ball joints due to leverage. I'd rather do a little grinding and keep the wheels tucked close. Just be careful on the type of weights used to balance the tires too.

I ground my d60 calipers to aceppt a 15 inch rim and regret it somewhat now. I don't think modifying a brake component would pass an inspection if the inspector was anal. I know its a pain in the ass but before you do something irreversible look into the rules and regs in your area. Very worst case scenario : You are in an accident, and upon inspection they find you have modifyed your brakes and find you at fault because of said mod. Just my .02 cents.

Lots of grinding is required or you can shell out the $200 like I did and order brackets from Sumner Machine Works that allows you to run calipers from a Dana 44. Then the only grinding that needs to be done is the casting flash. They will slide on the 14 bolt just fine.

Very informative, I have a 3/4 ton with the 8 lug Dana 44 up front and 14bolt in the rear and thought I could only go down to 16's. It is hard around here anyways to find a 15" rim in 8 lug but if a deal comes along good to know I can get them on the truck.
