Re: What did you get done 5/2/10 allmost cinco de mayo edition

Replaced a couple of broken bolts in my steering box, rattle-canned the rims, moved truck, plow and a "for sale" sign down by the road.
If i get my asking price, I can start fresh when I move, otherwise a northern truck is heading south. maybe. (plow I'll scrap if I have to.)

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Corrected the goofy power steering brackets the prevous owner had on my 81 and then went to move out of the garage after complete to find out it doesnt start and possibly needs a starter. I guess its in the right spot, put a damper on things.

Hauled 2000 lbs of dirt for my back yard. My little 1/2 ton with blown rear struts and old springs was riding on the bump stops. Did get a few thumbs up and waves while hauling the dirt though! Today she'll be used to haul some bricks! I love having a truck again!

Re: What did you get done 5/2/10 allmost cinco de mayo edition

Worked a little on the truck, trying to get the stereo wiring laid down nice and neat.
Our bmx race got rained out for 2nd friday in a row, but had a make up race Sunday afternoon. We had a blast, my boy is getting better, had the holeshot a couple times until turn 2, then he just ran out of gas. He got 2nd
I nearly wiped out in the same spot twice, had to slow down, ran out of gas, I was winded. Jumping is easy, landing is tricky for an old guy, lol.
Can't wait til friday, new cranks and sprocket for my boy, maybe he can pull it off this week.

Re: What did you get done 5/2/10 allmost cinco de mayo edition

I race at emerald coast dirt and vert bmx track in Ft. Walton Beach. Not big, but it's fun.
We are going to the wiregrass nationals in Dothan, AL in a couple weeks.
If my son sticks with it, we will be at the big races...but for now, it's a long haul and hard to justify at this point, I am hoping things change. I'd like to race the big races but the 36-40 cruiser is all ex pros, I would get smoked...but I am working on it.

That must have been a rush?

I got a new a/c hose today from advance it had made in China on it.

I am awaiting a paint cup for my new Iwatta gun (and more money for paint).

Decided I am gonna put the Edelbrock RPM heads and Lunati retro- hydraulic roller on in the mean time along with the crane gold roller rockers, Cloyes hex-adjust chain and timing cover that I bought a while back.

While everything is off (front-end) now is good time to do it.

I also cut the grass today
