What suspension option to go with?

I'm about to start my first truck project and was hoping to get some help sorting through the different suspension options out there.

I have a 1971 Chevy LWB Custom Camper 3/4 ton that I would like to install either a 2/4 or 3/5 drop in and then put 17x8's in the front and 17x9.5's in the rear. Even though I am fixing this truck up, it will still be a utility truck in between and so I still need to be able to haul the occasional load of gravel, dirt or lumber without ruining the truck. Any suggestions on the direction I should go?

Thanks.
