Re: Garages from a dream

Ahhh, on a hot summer day I can actually hear the hypoid gear oil dripping out of my Eaton and transmission/transfercase onto that fancy floor. At least the oil would be easy to wipe up...

People like that with garages or rather show rooms such as these don't actually do anything to their cars/trucks, they just dust them off and occasionally drive them around the block. Then just dream that they actually had anything to do with getting them to the way they are, while drinking their ten dollar bottle of micro brew beer while puffing on a cheap cigar they claim to be Cuban. Then at the same time talking like they actually know something about what they own...

Sorry if I sound judgmental, just that I do know people like that with places like this...

Re: Garages from a dream

I'd like to build (or buy) a big shop building and put a little Fonzie-type apartment at one end or upstairs. Like those garage-condo deals on Ryan's site.

Trouble is, the bank won't loan money for something like that right now. They told me to qualify for a residential mortgage loan, it has to be a residential structure.

Anybody know a way to get around that, except for being WAY more liquid than I'll probably ever be? Not having sufficent shop space is killing me.

Buy an acre or two out in the boonies and pull an agricultural permit for a barn. Don't dress it out till after the inspector signs off your final. Cheapest way to go.

Garage Journal.......Rich people just showin off. I doubt if any of them has ever risked breaking a nail by actually working on any of those rides! As for me, I'd rather drink a few brews and go leave some very long and very wide parallel black marks on a stretch of pavement with the rides we built!
