tire suggestions

so i'm running on a set of 13 y/o 31-10.5-r15 Michelin M/S tires and think it's a good idea to pick up a new set before this summers romping. I'm looking at the Michelin AT2s at a 285/75/16 but i don't know what my restrictions are going to be. especially with a stock suspension. it looks like i can afford 3+ inches all the way around. i also heard that i'll tear up my axles with 33s...

so what do you guys think? (285s of a stock ride height)

the axles will soport that or more my truck has 35 maybe you will need to change gears depending on the motor and trns

Well I am not sure what sort of budget your on, but for atight budget I have ben running tires from treadwright. They are retreaded tires, but for the cost they have been great. I have a set of 33s on my dodge right now, used alot off road, and they have about 12,000 on them and are wearing as good if not better than any other tire I am running. I have loaded mine up with some good loads. If you rotate often, and keep proper inflation they are a great tire.

Oh yeah I also got my set delivered then mounted and balanced for under $700. Again they were the 33" mud tires. I will use them from here forward.

They have a variety of treads and sizes availible. Also when I took them in, they balanced better than most aggressive tires, and the shop guy had no idea they wer retreads at all.

As far as 33" on a stock axle, there should be no issue unless you really heavy on the gas. I am running 36 swampers, most consider a 35 the top size for a 44/12 bolt can run. Gearing maybe and issue, but I am not sure all my vehicles have had 3.93-4.56 ratios.

Gl with the issue, the best bet is to determine what you want and build from there. Street cruiser vs. offroader end up with very different needs.

I have 235/85R16 All-terrain BFG's and they are great tires. They have enough tread that they stick well in snow, but they aren't loud, bumpy or squirrely on wet pavement.
