Re: Shackle flip again > 54” springs to 56”

Thought you might all get a kick out of this….

We’re getting our crap in order for another overland trip around Utah coming up the first week of June. We are planning to complete a trail we ran out of time to finish last year (Hole in the Rock) then head up to Canyon Lands (Maze District and more) for the rest of the week.

We’ve done a lot more work to our little supply trailer by adding battery power and revamped the camp stove arrangement. We are also considering mounting a marine fuel tank in the trailer as we will need to pack more fuel this year than last due to the remoteness of this area.

Today, I finally got the different tires that I mentioned a few posts ago. I love my Q78 Swampers but they are overkill for these desert trips. Got some cheap 315/75-16 Kumho KL78 Road Ventures. The steam rollers and black wheels give the truck a completely different look. It is amazing how much better the truck steers and rides with radials on it too

My only regret is I should have gone to 325's instead of 315's. These are about an inch shorter than the swampers. At least there is plenty of room for suspension flex.

Your truck looks great!
I agree, u could have went one size bigger on the tires. Too late now. ( I hate it when I do that.)

Very nice! I think your truck would look cool with just about any tire/wheel combo!

Re: Shackle flip again > 54” springs to 56”

Well, we were supposed to leave for our desert trip 2010 on June 5th but my dad had a major stroke over the Memorial Day weekend and is still in ICU. My dad is only 64 years old no less. With my dad’s bleek condition who knows when and if this year’s desert trip will take place. So far we are off to a pretty sucktastic summer.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. My prayers are with him and your family! I hope he pulls through it!
