brake booster
Is there any differance in a brake booster from 1969 drum drum compared to a 1971 disc disc booster?

I've been told that the only difference is the proportioning valve.. Booster should be the same( 11" single diaphragm) .. Dont quote me though

Yes their is. I have the drum/drum dual diaphram booster which of course is more expensive then the larger single diaphram....just my luck I guess.

71 never had disc/disc from the factory. Perhaps you mean 71 disc/drum?

yea I know I meant disc drum.
The reason that I asked this,Is becouse I did a complete frame off on my 69 and switched to front disc with k member fron 85 1/2 ton.I used the a new master and proportioning valve to match the new disc set up. But my brakes are very touchy. |

Gotcha. The only suggestion I have is to make sure the shoes, pads, rotors and drums are all clean by using brake cleaner and then don't touch them. Any amount of grease or oil will make the brakes touchy. Hopefully more will chime in with suggestions. I'm fighting some brake issues myself right now with a 4 wheel disc conversion.
