Got the Seat Back FINALLY!

I was beginning to think the upholster had moved out of state with my Sons Bench Seat for his 69 long Fleet. Well I got it back today after I had to hunt him down and get it from him. Once I saw the seat my blood pressure went down dramatically. Here it is.

looks great// i wonder why more guys dont take advantage of getting a custom personalized seat like you made the good choice to do//i'd say worth the wait, quality upholstery guys are always swamped and try to keep everybody thier first priority

First off, Thanks to all for the compliments I too think its a great looking seat. The Upholster had the seat for a Month but told me he would only have it a week. I realy dont mind that he had it a Month but I would rather hear that up front. I probably called him once a week (with no reply or returned call) until yesterday when a friend of mine gave me his home address. This guy works out of his basement and when I showed up at his home the seat was done (How long had it been done?). I figure it this way, the next time I use him for a seat I will just multiply the time he gives me by 4 and then there will be no surprizes. The Seat cost $400. He also Upholstered the dash pad and the door coverings.

murgg,
I used your reply as a blanket reply for all so if your wondering why all the long winded response thats why. Thanks again for the compliment.

He checks for broken springs and if any are in need or repair he does it. He completely restuffs the seat with all new foam and I can say from my Sons 64 Shortwide that they are really comfortable. This guy is really talented at a reasonable price.

400 sounds like a great price for seats and foam. Good looking seat.

I wanted to update this post because I have changed my mind about refering this upholster. I believe a Man is only as good as his word and if he's not he's not much of a Man. I've had to take my door panels and dash pad from my 67 Pickup and have them Upholstered by another Upholster because this guy took off with the ones from this truck and cant be found. Im guessing I need to check Craigslist and Ebay to see if he's selling them on there, Maybe I can get a good deal on them!!! LESSONS LEARNED.

Re: Got the Seat Back FINALLY!

wow, sorry to hear that. So he wasn't happy with having to fix the issues with the originals?

I had a similar experience with my upholstry guy but thankfully in the end he got it all correct and it looks awesome.

VA72C10,
Not sure what his deal is, but my neighbor has been dealing with him for quite a while now and he says every once in a while he will start hitting the Meth and he completely flakes out. I just dont want anyone else in here to have to put up with what I have especially if I am going to Recomend the guy. So I think its time to cut my losses and find someone I can depend on. I took my door panels and Dash pad from the 67 into a new guy I found and he said they would be done in a week. Once I get them back I will post some pictures. He showed me a whole book of pictures of his work and this guy is really good. In fact I think I am going to have him upholster my 67 GTO Convertible when it comes time for that one to be done. Since I got the Goat I have forgotten that I still have a 56 Chevy Short Step BigWindow thats my truck that needs to be restored. TOO MANY PROJECTS.
