i recently heard a scrapping from my rear and pulled wheels off to inspect brakes and well...its bad i need everything and to give u an idea their 12in brakes worn to 12 and 7/16 and so thin and see through u can twist the drums with your hands(im not kidding). anyways priced everything out and came up with 375-425$(including lines) so was thinking why don't i use this as a chance to but rear disc brakes and think i found a good kit that costs a little more then my stock parts, heres the linkhttp://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/index7.html#4d60 has anyone dealt with these guys is that an reasonable price? are their other kits avaiable? i couldnt find any. BTW my truck is a 72 c25 gmc with a dana 60 im looking at kit w e brake. thanks everyone.

I'd take this opportunity to do the upgrade, looks like a pretty standard rear disc kit. youll have to change your proportioning valve, wilwood sells a really nice one for $60 or so.

thats true will they specify whether the prop valve is designed for all around discs or do i look for an adjustable one?

Yup, that's the exact one I was talking about. I've got one, haven't got it installed yet, but it comes with easy instructions on how to adjust it properly. it can be adjusted to work with any brake setup, drum drum, disc drum, or disc disc.

sorry, didn't see the part number you put in, the one i have is 260-11179, got it from summit for 60 or so. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIL-260-11179/

blackbirds is a good company and were members here at one point. they deal with 3/4 stuff and are easy to deal with.

i see that valve your talking about has three outlets, so u could run a seperate line to each front caliper, is their an advantage that way over the single one that spilts at the frame to each caliper? good to hear that their a good company was worried buying something over internet with out knowing who they are. they so far seem to have the best prices on kits for my truck.

if i figured out that website right its 339 for the rotors and mounting parts and then either an extra 120 for none ebrake and 320 for ebrake calipers? thanks

You should look in our Vendors Marketplace. Capt Fab has some very nice disc conversion brackets for the Do-it-Yourself kind of guy. He is a great guy to deal with too.

I'm just gonna plug one of the front outlets, it says that it doesn't matter in the instructions if you do or don't. its just giving you the option.
