Need some help!

I made some changes and now the car dies when I come to a stop.

- Swapped carbs (new one was re-man'd a few years ago)
- Changed to an oil bath air cleaner (offset to accommodate booster)

It idles just fine, but as soon as I head down the road, it dies as I pull to a stop.

Inline six, 250. Rochester monojet carb 7042984.

Any ideas on what the problem might be???

Thanks.

Re: Need some help!

If you don't have any vacuum leaks like 10 sugested, Try turning the idle jet out about 1/2 turn. You might take the top off the carb & check the float level & metering rod adjustment.

Re: Need some help!

The carb was sucking air through the gasket big time. Swapped the carb back to the old one and added the vacuum advance it was missing from the new one. It's running much better now. Thanks guys.
