Rear mount gas tank questions

I purchased a rear mount gas tank kit from lmc truck. My question is do you have to notch the bed cross still on the bed. I mounted the tank and it hits the bed cross still. All the other posts do not say anything about notching the cross still....... What to do

yes you do have to notch the cross sill, Im not this far yet as I havent put the bed back on the truck yet but there posts in here somewhere that say where to notch
